The fund pursues its investment objective by investing, under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in equity securities that are economically tied to the U. S. The fund generally invests in a core group of 30-50 equity securities, which consist primarily of common stocks, but may also include other types of instruments, such as depository receipts and warrants.
