MSTI strives to achieve substantial income gains by favoring securities perceived to be of lower-risk and high quality. The fund typically holds a portfolio of 100-500 US Corporate and Government bonds that are rated investment grade but has the flexibility to invest in those of lower ratings, along with asset-backed securities. Securities selected for the fund are characterized by their credit risk, sector exposure and yield curve positioning.
