Aterian plc engages in the exploration and development of mineral properties in Africa. The company primarily explores for tin, tungsten, and tantalum. Its projects include the Kuaka Mine, a tantalum mine site that is on the eastern shore of Lake Kivu; and the Huye Joint Venture, a 50/50 joint venture with Dynasty Construction company that is in the south of the country.

The company was formerly known as Eastinco Mining and Exploration plc and changed its name to Aterian plc in November 2022.
