The EURPE COMRCIALS & PROFES SVC SCRND 20/35 index is structured to replicate the performance of a market consisting of large and mid-sized companies operating within developed European economies. All included securities are classified under the communication services sector, according to the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS). Weighting is determined by free-float adjusted market capitalization, adhering to MSCI Capped Indexes methodology; this means the largest single group entity is capped at 35%, and all other group entities are limited to 20%, with a 10% buffer applied to these thresholds during regular index rebalancing and any necessary monthly ad-hoc adjustments. A significant feature of this index is its robust ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) screening process. It excludes issuers involved in controversial weapons, those holding an MSCI ESG Rating of 'CCC' or no rating, and firms generating revenue from tobacco, conventional or nuclear weapons, civilian firearms, thermal coal, unconventional or arctic oil and gas extraction, or palm oil. Any company with an MSCI Controversies Score of 0 is also ineligible. Additionally, the index aims for a reduced greenhouse gas intensity compared to its benchmark.
