The fund's Benchmark Futures Contracts consist of natural gas futures agreements traded on the NYMEX exchange. These contracts consistently comprise the one closest to its expiration date (the front-month contract) and the contracts for the following eleven calendar months, forming a continuous sequence of twelve monthly contracts. An important exception to this selection occurs if the front-month contract falls within two weeks of its expiration, in which case it is not included in the benchmark.
