The Global X Scientific Beta Japan ETF (SCIJ) seeks to replicate the financial performance—encompassing both price appreciation and income generation—of the Scientific Beta Japan Multi-Beta Multi-Strategy Four-Factor Equal Risk Contribution (ERC) Index, before accounting for its own operational costs. To achieve this, the fund commits at least 80% of its total assets to the underlying securities comprising the index, or to American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) and Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) that represent these index components. The benchmark index itself typically consists of up to 300 common stocks traded on Japanese exchanges, which are chosen using a distinctive, proprietary methodology crafted by EDHEC Risk Institute Asia Ltd.
