Operating under its current name, the First Trust Alerian Disruptive Technology Real Estate ETF (DTRE) was formerly known as the First Trust FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Developed Markets Real Estate Index Fund. Its primary objective is to generally mirror the overall performance—both price appreciation and income generation—of the Alerian Disruptive Technology Real Estate Index, prior to deducting any fund fees and expenses. To achieve this, the fund typically allocates a minimum of 90% of its total investable capital (including any borrowed funds for investment purposes) into the common stocks, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), and depository receipts that collectively form this underlying index.
