The ultimate value achievable from a box spread at its expiration is precisely the difference between the strike prices of its constituent long and short options. Determining the quantity and specific maturity dates for these box spreads depends on several factors, including the fund's total asset base, the effective yields available across various expiration periods in the market, and projections regarding future interest rate trends. Crucially, the fund will only deploy capital into a box spread if it projects a positive pre-tax return.
