The fund aims to achieve its investment objective by committing at least 80% (and generally most) of its holdings to the debt securities comprising the Bloomberg US Corporate 1-5 Years Total Return Index. This benchmark tracks the segment of the bond market consisting of investment-grade, U. S. dollar-denominated, fixed-rate, taxable corporate bonds with remaining maturities ranging from one to five years.
