Airborne Wireless Network (AWN) is a developing enterprise dedicated to the creation, commercialization, and licensing of an interconnected, high-speed broadband network operating in the air, achieved through the interconnection of in-flight aircraft. Central to its efforts is the Infinitus project, an aerial broadband system which aims to transform participating planes into aerial repeaters or routers, enabling them to transmit and receive broadband signals amongst themselves. The company plans to monetize its wireless broadband capacity by selling it to telecommunication firms and internet service providers.
